Boone County Farmer's Market
Started in 1987, a handful of local farmers
decided to get together and introduce
the locals to a taste of Northern Kentucky farm raised fruits
and vegetables on weekends. Since 2002, the market has expanded,
with the help of the Boone County Cooperative Extension Service
Office, to a membership of 50 plus with lots of community
support to provide various locally grown plants, fruits and
vegetables on a full time basis, 7 days a week from spring
through fall. The market now has a permanent location on a
paved parking lot next to the extension office at, 6028 Camp
Ernst Rd, in Burlington (corner of KY 18 and Route 237) just
west of Camp Ernst Rd. in Northern Kentucky.
Hours of Operation
The Boone County Farmer's Market is open seven
days a week from April to October from 9:00AM to 6:00PM, and
product availability is based on the current season.
What To Find
In
spring, the market is a great stop for hanging baskets, perennials,
bedding plants, vegetable plants, ornamentals, small trees
and shrubs and spring strawberries.
In summer, you will find fresh, locally grown
produce such as tomatoes, beans, cucumbers, peppers, egg plant,
corn, asparagus, blackberries, squash, apples, peaches, cantelope,
watermelon and more.
In fall, look for mums, pumpkins, corn stalks,
gourds and winter squash among items and, no matter what the
season, you will find great local hospitality and service.
Become A Participant
For prospective growers or participants, the
market is open to all Boone County residents through the Boone
County Extension office. For membership and participation
